Introduction & Overview

This project came about as a class requirement for my Management 414 course at Western Washington University.  The purpose of this project is to apply business course knowledge that I have learned at WWU to a practical business project.  I approached VECA Electric & Technologies and asked if they would allow me to join them in working on a current project.  They were gracious enough to spend time with me and gave me the task to perform a cost analysis on a current construction project.  The project I was assigned was to develop an accurate cost analysis of all electrical components needed to complete a new construction facility being built to operate a bicycle retail and assembly business; Transition Bike Shop.  In addition I was asked to create three marketing ideas that would add value and appeal for both VECA Electric & Technologies and Transition Bike Shop. All completed deliverables were turned into Ryan Binning the Senior Project Manager and Kristi Lewis Tyran my Management 414 professor.  Every monday I sent a memo that outlined the current status and progress of the project.

About VECA Electric & Technologies

VECA Electric & Technologies has been in business for over six decades, and the two brothers - World War II soldiers - who started "Veterans Electrical Contractors Association" (VECA) had an extremely focused vision. Their idea was to build a business founded in quality, driven by offering value, and anchored by trust. VECA owes its continued success to all of its people and partners who live by this business approach.

In 1989, Thomas Fairbanks purchased the company, and following his unique values, VECA has become what it is today. VECA Electric & Technologies design, install, and service commercial electrical, communications and wireless systems in new and existing buildings. They are experts in the field, and their clients are instilled with the confidence of knowing that they provide innovative solutions and unparalleled service. They owe their continued success to all of their people and partners who live by this business approach.
